1. Meeting of Senate.—The Senate met at three p.m., pursuant to adjournment.
2. PRAYERS.
3. P apers.—The following Papers were presented, pursuant to Statute— Lands Acquisition Act—Land acquired at— Broadmeadows, X'ictoria—For Defence purposes. Rathmines, New South Wales—For Defence purposes.
Wynyard, Tasmania—For Defence purposes. Sales Tax Assessment Acts (Nos. 1 to 9)—Regulations—Statutory Rules 1942, No. 178.
4. Questions.—Questions on notice were answered.
5. Australian Broadcasting Bill 1942.—Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That the Bill be now read a second time. Debate resumed. Ordered—That the debate be adjourned till the next day of sitting, and that Senator Allan MacDonald
have leave to continue his speech on the resumption of the debate.
6. Adjournment.—The Minister for the Interior (Senator Ceilings) moved—That the Senate do now adjourn. Debate ensued. Question—put and passed.
The Senate adjourned at nineteen minutes past eleven p.m. till to-morrow at eleven a.m.
7. Attendance.—Present, all the Members except Senators Clothier and Wilson (on leave).
