3. Tasmanian P eas— Ministerial Statem ent .—The Minister for Trade and Customs (Senator Keane), by leave, made a statement on the subject of the prices fixed by the Prices Commissioner for Tasmanian Blue and Grey Peas.

4. Leave of Absenc e .—Senator Allan MacDonald, by leave, moved—That three months’ leave of absence be granted to Senator Wilson, on account of military service with the Australian Imperial Force abroad. Question—put and passed.

5. P rofits— J oint Committee — Second R e po r t.—Senator Spicer brought up the Second Report of the Joint Committee on Profits. Ordered to be printed.

6. R ural I ndustries — J oint Com m ittee .—Message from the House of Representatives.—The following Message from the House of Representatives was received and read :— Mr. P r e s id e n t , Message No. 109.

The House of Representatives transmits to the Senate the following Resolution which was agreed to by the House of Representatives this day :— That Mr. Pollard be discharged from attendance on the Joint Committee on Rural Industries. ,

On the motion of Senator Ceilings the debate was adjourned. Ordered—That the resumption of the debate'be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.

N ational Security (Landlord and Te n a n t) R egulations — Motion for D isallow ance .—Senator Spicer, pursuant to notice, moved—That Regulation No. 25 of the National Security (Landlord and Tenant) Regulations issued under the National Security Act 1939-1940, and included in Statutory Rule No. 275 of 1941, be disallowed. Debate ensued. And Senator A. J. McLachlan addressing the Senate, and having asked leave of the Senate to continue

his remarks on the resumption of the debate—leave not granted. Debate continued. Question put. '

Question—put and passed. -

16. AD.iouRNMKXT.— The Minister for the Interior (Senator Collings) moved—That the Senate do now adjourn. Debate ensued. Question—put and passed. The Senate adjourned at nine p.m. till Wednesday, 29th April next, at three p.m., unless the President
