1. M eeting of S enate.—The Senate met at three p.m., pursuant to adjournment.
2. PRAYERS.
3. P apers.—The Vice-President of the Executive Council (Senator Russell) laid on the Table the following Papers, viz. :— ' .
Pursuant to Statute— War Service Homes Act.—Land acquired at— Hamilton, New South Wales (two notifications). Islington, New South Wales.
Kogarah, New South Wales. Parramatta, New South Wales. Rockdale, New South Wales. Sans Souci, New South Wales. Weston, New South Wales, Defence Act.—Regulations amended.—Statutory Rules 1920, No. 152.
1. Q uestions.—Questions on notice were answered.
5. Commonwealth Conciliation and A rbitration B ill.—Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Bill, as reported a second time. The Vice-President of the Executive Council (Senator Russell) moved—That the Reports be adopted. Question—put and passed. Suspension of Standing and Sessional Orders.—-The Vice-President of the Executive Council (Senator
Russell), pursuant to contingent notice, moved—That so much of the Standing and Sessional Orders be suspended as would prevent the Bill being passed through its remaining stages without delay. Question—put and passed. Senator Russell moved —That the Bill be now read a third time. Question—put and passed. Bill read a third time and passed.
6. N ew Guinea B il l.—Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That the Bill be now read a second time. .

The Senate, according to Order, resolved itself into a Committee for the consideration of the Bill.

The President resumed the Chair ; and Senator Bakhap, from the.Committee, reported accordingly. Whereupon the Senate adopted such Report. Ordered—That the third reading of the Bill be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting. E.251

7. Westralian F armers A greement B ill.— Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That the Bill be now read a second time. Debate resumed. Ordered —That the debate be adjourned till a later hour of the day, and that Senator Pratten have
leave to continue his speech on the resumption of the debate.
At half-past six p.m. the sitting of the Senate was suspended till eight p.in.
Sitting, interrupted by the suspension, resumed.
8. P ostponement—Ordered—That Order of the Day No. 1, Private Business, be postponed until Thursday next.
9. W estralian F armers Agreement B ill.— Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That the Bill be now read a second time. Debate resumed. On motion of Senator Wilson, the debate was adjourned. Ordered—That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for to-morrow.
10. A djournment.—The Senate adjourned at eight minutes to ten p.m. till tomorrow at eleven a.m.
