JOURNALS OF THE SENATE.
FRIDAY, 20th AUGUST, 1920.
1. Meeting of Senate.—The Senate met at eleven a.m., pursuant to adjournment.
2. PRAYERS.
3. Question.—Question on notice answered.
4. I nstitute of Science and I ndustry Bill.—The Vice-President of the Executive Council (Senator Russell), according to Order, moved—That the Bill be now read a third time. Question—put and passed. Bill read a third time and passed.
5. N ationality Bill.—The Vice-President of the Executive Council (Senator Russell), according to Order, moved—That the Bill be now read a third time. Debate ensued. Question—put and passed. Bill read a third time and passed.
6. Audit Bill.—Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Bill, as reported. The Minister for Repatriation (Senator E. D. Milieu) moved—That the Report be adopted. Question—put and passed. Ordered—That the third reading of the Bill be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.
7. Message from the H ouse of R epresentatives.—Butter Agreement Bill.ยท—The following Message from the House of Representatives was received and read : — Mr. P resident, Message No. 30.
The House of Representatives transmits to the Senate a Bill intituled “ A Bill for an Act relating to the Exportation of Balter from the Commonwealth,” with which it desires the concurrence of the Senate. Elliot J ohnson,
House of Representatives, Speaker.
