1. Meeting of Senate.—The Senate met at three p.m., pursuant to adjournment.

2. PRAYERS. ·

3. Governor-General's Messages.—The following Messages from His Excellency the Governor·General were presented, and the same were read by Mr. President:— (1) Moratorium Bill. ·

R. M. FERGUSON, Governor-General. Message No. 55.

A Bill intituled “ An Act to continue in force certain Regulations intituled the War Precautions (Moratorium) Regulations and the War Precautions (Active Service Moratorium) Regulations,” as finally passed bv the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth, having been presented to the Governor-General for the Royal Assent, His Excellency has, in the name and on

behalf of His Majesty, assented to the said Act.

(2) Commercial Activities Bill.

A Bill intituled “ An Act relating to certain Commercial Activities carried on by the Common­ wealth in lime of W ar” as finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth, having been presented to the Governor-General for the Royal Assent, His Excellency has, in the name and on behalf of His Majesty, assented to the said Act. .

(3) Wireless Telegraphy Bill. "

A Bill intituled “ An Act to amend Section Two of the ‘ Wireless Telegraphy Act 1905-1915 as finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth, having been presented to the Governor-General for the Royal Assent, His Excellency has, in the name and on behalf of His Majesty, assented to the said Act.

4. The Late Mr. A. C. Palmer, M.P.—The President informed the Senate that he had received from Mrs. Palmer a letter expressing her thanks for kind inquiries, and the Resolution of sympathy passed by the Senate on the occasion of the death of the late Mr. A. C. Palmer, M.P.

5. Paper.—The Minister for Repatriation (Senator Millen) laid on the Table the following Paper, , viz. :—

By Command— Peace Treat)7 between tbe Allied and Associated Powers and Germany, signed at Versailles, 28th June, 1919.

6. Adjournment.—The Minister for Repatriation (Senator Millen) moved—That the Senate do now adjourn. Debate ensued. Question—put and passed. *

The Senate adjourned at a quarter past three p.m. till to-morrow at three p.m.

7. Attendance.—Present, all the Members except Senators Buzacott, Earle, Fairbairn, Gardiner, Grant, Guy (on leave), Lynch, Pearce (on leave), and Plain.
