1. Meeting of S enate.— The S enate met a t eleven a.m., p ursuant to adjournm ent.
2. P R A Y E R S .
3. Adjournment to Debate Matter of Urgency.— Senator G ardiner, in order to discuss a m atter of urgent public importance, viz., “ The serious situation th a t has arisen in connexion w ith the increases in the prices of hides, leather, and footw ear,” moved— T h at the Senate, a t its rising, adjourn till eleven o’clock to-morrow. D ebate ensued. i
At one p.m. th e sittin g of th e S enate was suspended till half-past two p.m.
Debate, interrupted by the suspension of the sitting, resumed. A nd the debate having reached the lim it of three hours allowed by th e S tanding Order, the Business of th e D ay was called oil.
4. Questions.— Questions on notice were answered.
5. Message from the H ouse of R epresentatives.— Moratorium B ill.—The following Message from the H ouse of R epresentatives was received and read :—
M r. P resident, Message No. 95.
The H ouse of R epresentatives transm its to the Senate a Bill in tituled “ A Bill for an Act to continue in force certain Regulations intituled the War Precautions (Moratorium) Regulations and the War Precautions (Active Service Moratorium) R e g u la tio n s w ith which it desires the concurrence of the Senate. \
