1. Meeting of S enate.—The .Senate met at, three p.m., pursuant to adjournment.

Standing Orders Committee : Second R eport.—The President, as Chairman of the Standing Orders Committee, laid on the Table the following Report, viz. :— Second Report from the Standing Orders Committee, dated 7 th August, 1919, with the proposed new Standing Order relating to Time Limit to Speeches. Ordered, after debate, to be printed, and taken into consideration in Committee of the Whole
tomorrow. .
4. Questions.—Questions on notice were answered.
5. P rinting Committee : T hird R eport.—Senator Barker, pursuant to notice, moved— That the Report from the Printing Committee, presented to the Senate on 6th August, 1919, be adopted. Question—put and.passed. '
6. P ostponements . - - Ordered—That the following postponements of Private Business be made, viz.:— Notice of Motion No. 10 to Wednesday n e x t; Notice of Motion No. 14, and Order of the Day No. 3 to Thursday next. ·
7. Northern Territory Ordinance No. 8 of 1919 : D isallowance.—Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That Northern Territory of Australia Ordinance No. 8 of â 1919, entitled “ An Ordinance to Provide for a Council of Advice for the Northern 'Territory ”, be disallowed. . â

At half-past six p.m. the sitting of the Senate was suspended till eight p.m.
