DISCUSSION OF MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE—ENVIRONMENT—QUEENSLAND—OIL SPILL

The Acting Deputy President (Senator Forshaw) informed the Senate that the Leader of the Australian Greens (Senator Bob Brown) had proposed that the following matter of public importance be submitted to the Senate for discussion:

 The recent oil and chemical spill from the Pacific Adventurer on the south-east Queensland coast.

The proposal was supported by four senators and the matter was discussed.
