ENVIRONMENT—QUEENSLAND—MARY RIVER—PROPOSED DAM

The Leader of the Australian Greens (Senator Bob Brown), pursuant to notice of motion not objected to as a formal motion, moved general business notice of motion no. 206—That the Senate calls on the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Water (Mr Garrett) to ensure that the assessment of the proposed dam on the Mary River in Queensland includes all prudent and feasible alternatives.

Statements by leave: The Minister for Human Services (Senator Ludwig), the Leader of The Nationals in the Senate (Senator Joyce), and Senators Bob Brown and Macdonald, by leave, made statements relating to the motion.
