The following 8 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators indicated, were received:

Senator Crichton-Browne, from 65 petitioners praying that the Senate request the Government to ensure that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation maintains the local content of rural radio programs such as the "Country Hour'.

Senator Crowley, from 117 petitioners praying that the Senate support the Australia Card Bill 1986.

Senator Elstob, from 62 petitioners praying that the Senate do all in its power to promote peace and nuclear arms reductions for the future of young Australians.

Senator Brownhill, from 24 petitioners praying that the Senate request the Government to pass on the full benefit of lower international oil prices to the Australian public.

Senator Bjelke-Petersen, from 53 petitioners praying that the Senate block the introduction of the proposed "National System for Therapeutic Goods for Human Use' legislation, and allow existing arrangements to continue.

Senators Brownhill and Haines, 2 petitions similar in wording, from 17 and 6 petitioners, respectively, praying that the Senate reject the Australia Card Bill 1986.

Senator Robertson, from 51 petitioners praying that the Senate request the Government to re-impose the ban on the sale of uranium to France and strengthen the South Pacific Nuclear Free Zone Treaty.
