The following petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators indicated, were received: Senator Jack Evans, from 52 petitioners praying that the Senate oppose the amendments to the Customs Regulations allowing the importation of material which portrays matter of a sexual nature.

Senator Collard, from 20 petitioners praying that the Senate ensure that chiropractic services are included in Medicare.

Senator Collard, from 110 petitioners praying that the Senate urge the Federal Government to take certain action with respect to a retirement income policy and not proceed with the proposed assets test legislation.

Senators Archer, Harradine, Reid and Walters, from 18, 573, 39 and 44 petitioners, respectively, praying that the Senate disallow certain regulations and ordinances dealing with publications and video materials, that action be taken to enforce existing laws, that further measures be taken in association with the States and that the censors more appropriately reflect reasonable and responsible community attitudes.

Senator Watson, from 162 petitioners praying that the Parliament offer leadership in moral as well as political affairs.

Senator Walters, 2 petitions similar in wording, from 101 and 83 petitioners, respectively, praying that the Senate take action to restrict the viewing of certain films, video tapes and printed material.
