Notices of Motion were given, as follows- Senator Jack Evans: To move on the next day of sitting-That this Government, as with its predecessors, having failed to set a new direction for Australia's economy under the constraints of single year budgets should now form an all-party committee to establish: (a) long term indicative planning procedures for Government and its departments;

(b) rolling budget systems with regular adjustments and audits; and

(c) a comprehensive long term plan to rationalise Australia's tax laws.

Senator Macklin: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate is of the opinion that- (a) legislation should be introduced to enable handicapped people to undertake university or other tertiary studies, without imposing the same pace of work as for able-bodied students; and

(b) this legislation should require the pace at which handicapped students are to work to be approved by a panel of medical and educational specialists and that this pace be in direct relationship with their level of disability/capacity.
