PETITIONS

The following petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators indicated, were received: Senator Macklin, from 44 petitioners praying that the Senate reject any legislation to increase taxation on lump sum superannuation.

Senator Bolkus, from 72 petitioners praying that the Senate urge the Government to remove taxes from materials used in home building and home purchasing.

Senator Reid, from 736 petitioners praying that the Senate urge the Minister for Health to take no action to change the current services provided by the Scullin Health Centre until the Task Force on the structure of the Capital Territory Health Commission has reported.

Senators Boswell, Hill, Macklin and Walters, from 5622, 156, 20 and 55 petitioners, respectively, praying that the United Nations Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women be not ratified.
