TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE FOR MINISTERS, SENATORS AND MEMBERS- MINISTERIAL STATEMENT

The Minister for National Development and Energy (Senator Sir John Carrick), by leave, made a statement relating to travelling allowance for Ministers, Senators and Members.

Paper: Senator Sir John Carrick, by Command of His Excellency the Governor- General, laid upon the Table the following Paper:

Travelling Allowance for Ministers, Senators and Members-Copy of letter from Mr Justice Mahoney, Chairman, Remuneration Tribunal, to Sir Peter Lawler, Secretary , Department of Administrative Services, dated 17 November 1982.

Senator McLaren, by leave, moved-That the Senate take note of the Statement.

Ordered-That the debate be adjourned till the next day of sitting, and that Senator McLaren have leave to continue his speech on the resumption of the debate.
