SENATE CHAMBER--CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION MONITORING

Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the motion by Senator Robertson--That the Senate authorizes the President to have closed circuit television facilities for the monitoring of the Senate Chamber installed at certain locations and in offices of certain Senate Office Holders as approved by the President.

Senator Colston moved an amendment, viz: Leave out all words after ""That'', insert ""the Standing Orders Committee be requested to consider improvements required in the Senate Chamber, including the provision of closed circuit television facilities for the monitoring of Senate proceedings, and to report to the Senate on the cost of such improvements''.

Debate ensued.

Question--That the words proposed to be left out be left out--put and negatived.

Amendment negatived accordingly.

Main Question--put and passed.
