Senator COONAN (Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts) (12:07 PM) —I can understand that there is some very good purpose to raising this issue. The government is very clear that certainly having consumer skills is a very important aspect of how you would put together the mix of people to be able to deal with the suite of things that are going to be necessary in a merged regulator. It is a serious point that is made and the government is very firm in its view that obviously consumer expertise, skills and background will be some of the aspects in the mix.
