Senator GREIG (10:51 AM) —Opposition amendment (4) provides that, in addition to providing the record of a closed hearing to any appellate court, the court must also provide such a record to the parties to the proceedings provided that that does not prejudice national security. While we Democrats take the view that the record should be provided to the parties in all circumstances and could be protected by way of confidentiality undertakings, we nonetheless welcome this improvement and give our support to it.
