Senator GREIG (8:52 PM) —Mr Temporary Chairman, having now observed the protocol and distributed Senator Stott Despoja's speech on the second reading, I seek leave to now have that incorporated in Hansard.

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN (Senator Lightfoot)—Is leave granted?

Senator Patterson —With all due respect, Mr Temporary Chairman, I have not had time to see it as I have been on my feet. The answer is no. I actually have a very strong feeling about speeches being incorporated: I do not agree with it. I believe that I should have the opportunity to read the speeches beforehand. I would love to be able to say yes to Senator Stott Despoja, but I do not agree with speeches being incorporated—a person should be here—and I have not had time to read hers. I presume it is okay, but I am not going to give carte blanche to speeches being incorporated.

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN —Leave is not granted.

Bill agreed to.

Bill reported without amendment; report adopted.
