Senator MACDONALD (2.08 p.m.) —I want to highlight the absolute disunity of the Australian Democrats. They are certainly not the party of Don Chipp. They have come a long way—all downhill, all backwards. I simply say to the Democrats: they ought to run their party with the unity and cohesion that the Liberal and National parties have shown in the last couple of years—a real example of how parties can work with unity and cohesion for the benefit of Australia. The Democrats would do well to learn from that, as with other things.

  Question resolved in the affirmative.
