Mr McVEIGH —I wish to make a personal explanation.

Mr SPEAKER —Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr McVEIGH —I do. In the debate on the Live-stock Slaughter (Export Inspection Charge) Validation Bill last evening on page 3087 the honourable member for Kalgoorlie (Mr Campbell) is reported in Hansard as having said the following about me:

. . . had the audacity to tell us that the Government did not introduce the legislation in the Senate because it did not want to obstruct the then Government's Budget measures.

I did not make that statement. I do not think the statement makes sense. The honourable member for Kalgoorlie might like to take it up with Hansard to ascertain what he did say and have it corrected in the weekly Hansard.
