Question No. 363

Mr Rocher asked the Minister for Finance, upon notice, on 23 August 1983:

How many people were employed full time in each Commonwealth statutory authority and what was the wages and salary bill in each authority at the end of the last 10 financial years.

Mr Dawkins —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

The information requested by the honourable member is not directly available in my Department in the form and detail sought. However, details of expenditure on wages and salaries for statutory authorities may be found by reference to the following:

for authorities the staff of which are employed under the Public Service Act and for which estimates provision is made under the salaries appropriation items of a department-Table 9 of Budget Paper No. 5, Estimates of Receipts and Summary of Estimates Expenditure;

for authorities the estimates for which are approved by a Minister and which are not included under the salaries appropriation items of a department-Table 14 of Budget Paper No. 5; and

for other authorities-further information may be available from the individual annual reports.
