Question No. 43

Dr Everingham asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs, upon notice, on 3 May 1983:

(1) Has his attention been drawn to any reports of a telecast twice shown on PBS television to millions of Americans and in part or whole in several European countries, entitled 'Nuclear War: The Incurable Disease', featuring the major part of a live broadcast to millions of citizens from Moscow by three prominent physicians from the United States of America and three from the Soviet Union.

(2) If so, will he obtain the program for the National Film Library or Parliamentary Library from International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War, 225 Longwood Avenue, Boston, Mass 02115, U.S.A. and recommend it to television stations in Australia.

Mr Hayden —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) and (2) I am advised that the film is only available on video cassette. My Department is in contact with the Parliamentary Library about the possible procurement of a copy.
