To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled. We, members of St Andrews Uniting Church in Australia situated at Kings Road, Brighton-le-Sands, desire legislation passed through Parliament providing for:

(i) The granting of title to all Aboriginal Reserves to the Aboriginal groups currently related to them,

(ii) The land needs of groups in places where Reserves are not currently available or if available are inadequate for their reasonable needs, and

(iii) Freedom for Aborigines to lay claim to sites of particular significance to them, for example Mumbulla Mountain on the South Coast of New South Wales which to be effective would need to require the right to control timber cutting.

Any such title granted must be inalienable except by decision of a designated majority of the Aboriginal group concerned with permission of the Supreme Court or by Act of Parliament. The legislation should also include a guarantee of the group's right to self-determination in the organization of their community's internal affairs.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
