Media Releases:

Pearce mobilises community for Scoresby Freeway fight Aston MP Chris Pearce today announced that he would be hosting a public meeting for local residents following the Bracks Government’s public betrayal of the people of Aston with the imposition of tolls on the Scoresby Freeway.

The public meeting will be held on Monday 28th April 2003 at the Hungarian Community Centre, 760 Boronia Road, Wantirna, commencing at 7:30pm.

Mr Pearce said that the public meeting would involve a briefing on the current status of the Scoresby Freeway followed by discussion of opportunities for the local community to work together in reversing this appalling decision.

Mr Pearce said that he had written today to Premier Steve Bracks and Opposition Leader Robert Doyle inviting them to attend this important meeting.

“There are two key reasons why I have convened this public meeting. The first reason is that I am passionate about getting the Scoresby Freeway built. The second reason is that I believe given the importance of this issue locally that it is vital that the community be heard”, Mr Pearce said.

Enquiries about the public meeting should be directed to Chris Pearce’s office on (03) 9887 3890.
