$1.59million Federal Government Grant Announced for Quirindi and District Nursing Home Thursday, 15 December 2005

Federal Member for Gwydir, John Anderson, announced today that older Australians and their families living in Quirindi will benefit from the allocation a $1.59million capital grant. “Quirindi and District Nursing Home has been awarded a $1.59million Federal Government Aged Care Capital Grant. This grant is part of over $5.7million that has been allocated to the Gwydir region,” Mr Anderson said. “I am pleased that the local aged care providers in Gwydir have responded to the Government’s decision to make a record number of allocations of new aged care places and funding.” As a result of a highly competitive assessment process, Mr Anderson said the aged care funding was allocated to those applicants who demonstrated they could best meet the care needs of the ageing community within a specified region. “The allocation of this funding further demonstrates the Australian Government’s commitment to delivering on our vision for a world class system of aged care that provides high quality, affordable and accessible services to meet the individual need and choices of older Australians,” Mr Anderson said.
