ROGER PRICE MP Federal Member for Chifley

MEDIA RELEASE 10 January, 2004

Roger Price’s Office Acts as Red Cross Tsunami Appeal Collection Point

Federal Member for Chifley, Roger Price MP, today announced that his Electorate Office will be acting as a Red Cross donation point for the Tsunami relief effort.

“Over the past few weeks Australians have shown enormous generosity by donating money to the relief effort, but many people are still unsure of where and how to donate,” Mr Price said.

“I thank all those Chifley residents who have dug deep to contribute to the relief effort.

“My Electorate Office, located at Shop 6, Roger Price Centre, 15 Cleeve Close, Mount Druitt, is now acting as a Red Cross donation point for local residents who wish to donate funds,” Mr Price said.

By donating money to the Red Cross, local residents will be helping to:

• Fund the deployment of specialist delegates to the region to assist in the International Red Cross response; • Support the relief and rehabilitation work of our Red Cross and Red Crescent partners through the global emergency appeal;

• Support an Australian Red Cross program of assistance in the affected area; • Provide emergency assistance as well as longer-term support for the affected people in a range of areas such as shelter, food and non-food,

water and sanitation and health.

If you wish to donate to the relief effort, but would prefer another aid agency, you can contact Roger Price’s Electorate Office on 9625 4344 and we will provide you with the details of your preferred agency.
