Australian Communications Authority reappointment The Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Richard Alston, today announced the reappointment of Professor David Round as a part-time member of the Australian Communication Authority (ACA).

Professor Round has been a member of the ACA since it was established, and his reappointment ensures the ACA maintains its depth of experience.

Professor Round has an extensive background in economics, and was appointed Chairman of the Employment Services Regulatory Authority in 1997. He was a member of the Australian Competition Tribunal, and an associate member of AUSTEL, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for many years. He is currently the Associate Professor of Economics, University of Adelaide.

Professor Round has been involved in numerous reports and policy decisions, and made substantial contributions to these organisations.

Professor Round has also made many contributions on an academic level, publishing a range of articles and books on competition in Australia , and on economics and microeconomic reform in general.
