Roger Price MP, Federal Member for Chifley today presented 28 Certificates of Appreciation to local residents who have contributed to Australia's efforts during times of conflict.


“It is a great pleasure to be able to present these certificates." Mr Price said. "They are a tangible demonstration that Australia's efforts during these times of conflict is as a result of thousands of individuals working together."


The Certificates cover six theatres of conflict; World War II; the British Commonwealth Occupational Forces (Japan); the Korean War; The Malayan Emergency; the Indonesian Conflict and the Vietnam War.


"You don't have to have fought on the front lines to be eligible for these certificates." Mr Price said. "People who served with volunteer organisations on the home-front are also recognised for their contributions."


"The certificates form a proud part of many families' history. They are a reminder that sacrifices were made and a symbol of the gratitude that Australia owes to those who served."
