ORDER OF AUSTRALIA GOES TO AN UNSUNG HERO OF THE RURAL WOMEN’S MOVEMENT

Dorothy Dunn is an outstanding representativ e for women in agriculture. She has truly done it all.

Dorothy has worked on the family farm, taken over the management in tragic circumstances, been a shire councillor in a regional area and, up until now, has been one of the unsung heroes of the 'women in agriculture' movement.

Dorothy was one of the prime movers behind, and the first President of Australian Women in Agriculture.

As an indefatigable lobbyist of government and farm industry groups, Dorothy is a shining role model of one voice really making a difference.

The honour she has received is a fitting acknowledgment of her efforts for greater recognition of Australian farm women, both in their work on farm and their ability to participate at the decision making level.
