Request for Tender for HQJOC Facility Prime Systems Integrator

I am pleased to announce further progress towards a fully operational $300 million Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) facility.

On 14 July 2006 I announced that five companies had been shortlisted to respond to the Request for Tender (RFT) for the command, control, communications, computing and intelligence (C4I) systems for the new facility, which will be built near Bungendore.

I can confirm today the release of the RFT documentation for the C4I systems Prime Systems Integrator contract.

The five companies shortlisted to bid for the contract are: ADI Limited, BAE Systems Australia, KAZ Technology Services Pty Ltd, Raytheon Australia Pty Ltd and RLM Systems Pty Ltd.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the success company to deliver a complex, integrated C4I capability for this significant Defence project.

The bidding companies must respond to the RFT by 18 September, and the Project expects to reach contract signature by mid November 2006.

The contract to construct and operate the Headquarters was finalised between Defence and Praeco Pty Ltd in late June 2006. Praeco, a consortium comprising Leighton Contractors Pty Limited and ABM AMRO Australia Limited, will deliver the new facility under private financing arrangements over a 30 year contract term.

The new HQJOC facility remains on schedule to be fully operational in the last quarter of 2008.
