Vote For Australia's Best Young Talent

Online voting has commenced in the 2008 Youth Week talent competition to find the best creative work from

young Australian writers, film makers, photographers, designers and unsigned musicians.

The Minister for Youth, Kate Ellis said Australians were invited to cast their vote for the Youth Week People’s

Choice Award at www.youthweek.com.

"This year hundreds of young people aged between 12 and 25 took up the exciting challenge to RockIT,

WriteIT, ShootIT, SnapIT and DesignIT," Ms Ellis said.

"The competition is the Government's way of saying that young Australians shouldn't have to wait their turn

to make a mark. The Australian public now has the opportunity to show their support for up and coming

young talent by voting for the fantastic finalists in each category.

"There are great prizes for the winners and finalists - so casting your vote counts!"

Some of Australia's leading organisations and youth initiatives, including the Commonwealth

Bank Foundation, thesource.gov.au, beyondblue: the national depression initiative and Scouts Australia have

jumped on board to support National Youth Week and help make the talent competition bigger and better

than ever.

Ms Ellis encouraged everyone to vote for their favourite entry before the closing date on the 18 June. Winners

will be announced in late June.
