"I am pleased to launch the Australian Institute of Criminology on CD-ROM", said Sen ator Amanda Vanstone, Minister for Justice today.

"The CD-ROM contains a number of AIC publications including 'A Statistical Profile of Crime in Australia', papers from the Trends and Issues series, and papers from the Australian Institute of Criminology's National Outlook Symposiums.

"This is the second in the Crime and Justice CD-ROM series.

"I believe it is a high quality publication that will add to the resources available to practitioners, researchers, journalists, students and others interested in crime issues.

"Already released in this series is Crime and Justice in Australia 1996. Future titles in the series are Crime and Violence Prevention, Corporate and White Collar Crime, and Crime and Justice in Australia 1998.

"The series includes publications from the Australian Institute of Criminology, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Federation Press, Queensland's Criminal Justice Commission, and the University of Western Australia's Crime Research Centre.

The CD-ROM is available for purchase through the Australian Institute of Criminology.
