Senate Oppose Kurnell Airport - But Not Labor Tuesday, 6 February 2001

The Senate this afternoon backed Greens Senator Bob Brown’s motion that: the Senate opposes airport facilities at Kurnell, New South Wales, because of the unacceptable environmental, social and economic impact on the peninsula, which has great significance for the Aboriginal community and for national history.

The Government supported the motion but it was opposed by the ALP.
