ORGAN TO INTRODUCE A LAW FOR WOLLONGONG HOSPITAL’S M.R.I. LICENCE

n the first session of the next Federal Parliament, Greens Cunningham MP Michael Organ has promised to introduce a Private Member’s Bill to compel the Health Minister to grant a licence for Wollongong public hospital’s brand new and still unused magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine if he is re-elected on Saturday.

“My legislation will ensure that the Illawarra’s health care needs are put front and centre in the national parliament,” Michael organ said.

“I am disgusted that Howard would prefer this essential equipment to be gathering dust than working non stop to save lives.”

“This health care debacle clearly shows that Howard’s preference for private over public is perverse”

“If I am re-elected on Saturday I will hold either the ALP or Coalition to account so that they deliver resources for the Illawarra’s health care needs.”

“The Howard Government’s stubborn refusal to grant a licence for Wollongong Public Hospital is a disgrace,” Michael Organ said.
