LOCAL RESIDENTS SPEAK OUT! YOUR CHANCE TO OPPOSE ABOVE GROUND POWERLINES

“Locals must act quickly if they wish to submit their written comments on Energex’s Initial Assessment Report for the proposed network upgrade from Mudgeeraba to Tugun, Federal Member for McPherson, Margaret May MP said.

“Energex has released the Initial Assessment Report for the proposed network upgrade from Mudgeeraba to Tugun outlining the project objectives and addressing the economic, environmental, technical and social impacts which have been identified along the proposed route.

“Written comments on the findings of the Initial Assessment Report must be submitted by 5 pm Friday 10th October 2008.

“Submissions are extremely important as they form part of the Final Assessment Report which will go to the Minister for Mines and Energy who has project approval.

“I have written to Minister Wilson urging him to listen carefully to the concerns of local residents when he makes this serious decision.

“Every resident who feels they will be adversely affected by above ground powerlines from Mudgeeraba to Tugun should put their concerns in writing.

“Written submissions can be made by email to mudgeerabatotugun@energex.com.au or by post to Energex-Maunsell, Mudgeeraba Tugun, Reply Paid 1823, Milton BC QLD 4064.

“Let’s show the Minister we will fight hard for the health and amenity of our suburbs, Margaret said.”
