Federal Member for Bonner, Ross Vasta, today announced that the truck toll trial on the Logan Motorway will continue until the end of the year as a result of having secured an extension of Federal Government funding.

“This is a positive short term outcome for residents who live along the Brisbane Urban Corridor,” said Mr Vasta

“The community feedback I have received thus far has been overwhelmingly in support of the trial and many residents have actually been able to get a good night’s sleep in the past year as a result of fewer heavy vehicles using suburban streets at night.

“I will now be working with my colleague, Gary Hardgrave, to push for a 24 hour toll free trial which would help to relieve residents of the impact of trucks during the day.

"This is all about trying to improve the quality of life for residents of Upper Mt Gravatt, Wishart and Mansfield.

“I am looking forward to gathering as much information from these residents as I can during the extension of the trial and I welcome feedback from the community,” said Mr Vasta.

"It is important that the State and Federal Government work together during this trial so that ultimately the best possible solution can be achieved for local residents," he said.
