A neeting of People Without Ho ~es and supporters adopted the follo wing rEsolution this evening: This meeting: "Conoem.:1s in the strongest terms the arrest and refusal of bail to !vlichael Thomp son and Liz Blake - for trying to live in an empty Goverm:.en t house.
Fails to understand ":1hy the DCT - which has already accepted the need to exaG ine changes in housing policy, cannot ---offer energency group accomoda tion OR --allow squatters to remain in a~ empty house.
Regards the DCT action in ordering the ar:::ests of people vd thout hornes as cruel, inconsiderate and provocative, and
calls on the corrmunity and the Government to urge the DCT to act like a r e a so n 2~le body, sErving public and co rr ~unity interests;
--urges elected ACT political rEpresentatives and all Legislative Asse ~bly election candidates to publicly reject the attitude of the DCT. "
