NEW ROUND OF WORK FOR THE DOLE ACTIVITIES FOR RIVERINA The Nationals Member for Riverina Kay Hull said a new round of Work for the Dole activities in the region will see 60 people participating in local projects and learning new skills.

Mrs Hull said the latest round of projects range from agricultural work through to repairing computers and customer service.

“A total of 20 people will take part in a project run by Mission Australia in Wagga Wagga in which donated computers are refurbished and upgraded and distributed to community organisations,” Mrs Hull said.

“The Griffith Skills Training Centre will run a community work pool in the communities of Ardlethan, Barellan, Coleambally, Darlington Point, Goolgowi, Griffith, Hay, Leeton, Narrandera, Yanco and Yenda. This work pool will enable 30 people to gain skills in administration, information technology, reception, researching, building, concreting, sales and marketing and customer service.

“A third project sponsored by the Riding for the Disabled will see nine participants assisting in improvements to the grounds and animals of the RDA that have suffered during the drought.

“The Mutual Obligation initiative provides participants with the opportunity to learn new skills, gain valuable work experience and make important contacts within the community.”
