Pearce calls on local councils to join him in fighting Labor's decision

Aston MP Chris Pearce today called on local Councils to fight the Labor State Government’s decision to introduce tolls on the Scoresby Freeway.

“I have today written to the Mayors of Knox City Council, City of Whitehorse, City of Casey and Maroondah City Council calling on them to join with me in seeking to have the State Government reverse this appalling decision”, Mr Pearce said.

The Bracks Government’s latest backflip - breaking their pre-election promise not to introduce tolls on the Scoresby Freeway - is a continuation of their appalling three-year track record on this important local project and highlights the Government’s unprincipled approach to governing Victoria.

“It is important that all of our community representatives stand up to the State Government and ensure that the people in the outer east are not discriminated against by this unfair and unprincipled State Government decision”, Mr Pearce said.
