LOCAL TALENT AWARDED WITH GRANT The Nationals Member for Riverina Kay Hull today congratulated the Wagga Wagga Writers Writers following its success in securing a grant from the Australia Council, the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body.

Mrs Hull said a grant of $9500 will assist the Wagga Wagga Writers Writers in skills and arts development.

“This grant will enable the Wagga Wagga Writers Writers to provide fees, fares and expenses for two fellowship residencies at the Booranga Writers’ Centre in 2004,” Mrs Hull said.

“It’s fantastic to see one of our local organisations recognised in a competitive field of applicants from throughout Australia.

“Applicants for Australia Council grants are judged by a committee of their fellow artists from around Australia. The Council’s selection criteria seeks the highest standards in artistic achievement.”
