Three new inquiries for the Public Works Committee

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works announced that it will scrutinise three new proposals from the Department of Defence and CSIRO. These projects include two projects based in New South Wales and one in various locations across Australia with the total value of all the projects being scrutinised being $137.8 million.

It is anticipated that the Committee will conduct public and in-camera hearings for the inquiries in September or October 2018.

Details of the projects can be found below:

 Myall Vale New Cotton Breeding Research Facilities Project - $18.0 - Narrabri, NSW  LAND 200 Tranche 2 Battlefield Communications Systems Facilities - $24.3 million - various locations  Naval Guided Weapons Maintenance Facilities - $95.5 million - Sydney, NSW

The Committee would like to hear from all individuals or organisations interested in the inquiries. Submissions will be accepted until 14 September 2018.

NB the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works is not involved in the tendering process, the awarding of contracts or details of the proposed works. Enquiries on those matters should be addressed to the Department of Defence.
