KATTER DELIVERS FUNDING INJECTION TO BOOST LOCAL SCHOOLS

More funding commitments will help with key infrastructure refurbishments to assist rural schools, thanks to Robbie Katter’s constant lobbying with the State Government.

The State Member for Mount Isa has welcomed the commitment of $1.65 million in capital-works funding towards Birdsville State School, Mount Isa’s Spinifex State College and Cloncurry State School facilities.

“I am pleased that after ongoing discussions with the Minister for Education, the Hon. Kate Jones, we have been able to secure much-needed funding for our local schools,” Mr Katter said.

Mr Katter said Cloncurry State School’s special education room and science lab are the big winners in today’s announcement, after years of pushing for state funding.

“I am glad the Cloncurry State School are now able to finally upgrade their facilities,” he said.

“These upgrades will further enhance our young leaders of tomorrow’s learning experiences.”

“I would like to commend our community leaders in ensuring that projects, such as these are continuously pushed.” Mr Katter concluded.
