THE HON RICHARD MARLES MP SHADOW MINISTER FOR DEFENCE MEMBER FOR CORIO

PAYNE AND PYNE’S TOOTHLESS TIGERS

Marise Payne and Christopher Pyne are putting our national security at risk with their bungling of Australia’s Tiger helicopter program.

The ANAO has found the amount of funding required to address caveats, capability deficiencies and obsolescence issues is unable to quantified. The ANAO also found:

“expert analysis commissioned by Defence indicates that the program will remain incapable of fully meeting expectations relating to reliability, availability, maintainability and rate of effort.”

The Shadow Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, said Defence is far too important to Australia’s national security to be bungled by the Government.

"The ANAO's report into the Tiger helicopter program makes for shocking reading.

"The failure to quantify the cost required is an indictment of the Government's handling of the project.

“Failing to deliver helicopters that can complete the tasks Australia needs puts our country at risk.

"Defence is too important to fall victim to the neglect ministers Payne and Pyne show to every national security challenge they don't think will help them in their interpersonal tussle for superiority."
