The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester will be part of a group of local residents who will shave their hair for charity this Friday night at the Lakes Entrance Entertainment Centre.

Darren has registered for the World’s Great Shave as part of a team called ‘Melonhead’ which is raising money in memory of 14-month-old Eli Simpson who passed away last year.

“Eli’s parents are doing a magnificent job to fundraise to support other families and help in the battle to find a cure for leukaemia and I’m keen to help where I can,” Darren said.

“I’ve put a $2000 price tag on my head and we’re up to $500 at the moment. If anyone is keen to see me bald and they want to contribute to a great cause at the same time, log on to the World’s Greatest Shave website and search for the Melonhead team.

“Donations of more than $2 are tax deductible and can also be made at my electorate offices in Sale or Traralgon or on the night in Lakes Entrance from 8pm.”

The World’s Greatest Shave assists the Leukaemia Foundation to provide a home-away-from-home for families when receiving treatment and provides funding for research into the disease.
