Minister for Finance to visit Wollongong for post-Budget Forum

One of the Commonwealth Government’s most senior members, Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Lindsay Tanner MP, will visit Wollongong on Wednesday evening (9 June 2010) for a post-Budget Forum we are hosting.

The Minister will be meeting with regional business and community representatives to discuss initiatives contained in the 2010-11 Federal Budget, including:

ï¿» Budget surplus ï¿» Personal income tax cuts ï¿» Cuts to company tax ï¿» Small business asset write-off of up to $5000 ï¿» Apprenticeship Kickstart extension ï¿» Superannuation boost ï¿» Health and hospital investments, including $14.1 million in cancer care at

Wollongong Hospital and $33.8 million at Shoalhaven Hospital ï¿» Renewable Energy Future Fund, and ï¿» Resource Super Profits Tax (RSPT).

The post-Budget Forum will be held between 6.30pm and 8pm at Villa D’oro, Flinders Street, Wollongong.

An entrance charge (of $30 per head or $20 unwaged) will apply to recover costs. This is not a political party fundraiser.
