Chairperson commends David Ross at the end of his term as ILC chair

Chairperson Evelyn Scott today commended the work of David Ross at the end of his appointment as Indigenous Land Corporation Chair on June 30,1999.'

‘Oavid played a very' positive role at the Indigenous. Land Corporation .and was a mediator in all things,” MS Scott said, .

"David has played a major role in Indigenous leadership in this country and through his work he has made a significant contribution to Council's goal of trying to win recognition and respect for the rights of Indigenous p e o p l e ,

?Ί would like to appreciation for his overall rapport with myself and the Council in all his dealings with us and specifically for his contributions to the Council’s development of the Draft Document for Reconciliation,” Ms Scott said.

Ms Scott recognised Mr Ross’s participation in the team cf Indigenous negotiators who worked towards the Native Title Act of 1993 and wished him well in his future endeavours. , ,i

“People with David's qualities will always be involved in the cause of Indigenous rights, and his vision and commitment has. done all Indigenous people proud," Ms Scott said. ;
