Lamb f roosts to the United Kin dom ^

The guaranteed rninimium price for lamb exports to

the United Kingdom for the 1970/71 season will be the same

as that for the1969/70 season.

This was announced to-day by the Minisfor for

Primary Industry, Mr. Anthony, in commenting on a decision

by the Australian Meat Board to continue the lamb guarantee

scheme for 1970/71 on similar terms and conditions to those

which have operated since the scheme was introduced in 1962.

Mr. Anthony said. "Exporters who ship lightweight

carcase lamb to the United Kingdom during the months of

September to November, 1970, will be guaranteed a miniriuni f.o.b. price of 18 cents Baer lb. while shipments in the period

December, 1970, to February, 1971 will be guaranteed a

minimum ;price of 16.5 cents per lb.

The continuation of the scheme for 1970/71 was

agreed to by the Board after considering a recommendation from

the State Lamb Committees.

"Administrat ive arrangements for the scheme will

be circulated by the Board to exporters and appropriate

producer organisations. before the commencement of the .1970/71

lamb export season".
