Part 1 P reliminary

   

1   Short title

                   This Act may be cited as the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Charges Act 1998 .

2   Commencement

                   This Act commences on the 28th day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3   This Act binds the Crown

                   This Act binds the Crown in right of each of the States, of the Australian Capital Territory and of the Northern Territory. However, it does not bind the Crown in right of the Commonwealth.

4   Definitions

             (1)  In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears:

Classification Act means the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995 .

interactive film means a film referred to in subsection 14(4) of the Classification Act.

revised version , in relation to a film, means a film that has been modified (other than by merely changing its title) since it was last classified.

running time , in relation to a film, means the period that starts on the first sound or image of the film and ends on the last sound or image of the film.

             (2)  An expression used in this Act and in the Classification Act has the same meaning in this Act as it has in that Act.
