AMENDMENT TO AMENDMENTS TO BE MOVED BY SENATOR STORER, AND SENATOR MCKIM, ON BEHALF OF THE AUSTRALIAN GREENS, [SHEET 8619]

(1)     Amendment (2), after section 198C, insert:

198CA   Certain transitory persons not to be brought to Australia

                   Despite sections 198B and 198C, an officer must not bring a transitory person to Australia from a regional processing country if the officer knows or reason ably suspects that the transitory person has been convicted in Australia or a foreign country of one or more of the following:

                     (a)  an offence relating to terrorism;

                     (b)  a sexually based offence involving a child ;

                     (c)  an offence involving violence against a woman or child.
