Senator PRIMMER -Can the Minister representing the Minister for Post and Telecommunications indicate what options are available to Telecom Australia to curtail the number of call charge queries, which are stated to have been 50,000 in capital cities alone in 1977-78, and the consequent expenditure of $2. 5m to resolve those queries?

Senator CHANEY - I am not aware of what action can be taken by Telecom Australia. I assume that the honourable senator is referring to those people who make a query with respect to a specific telephone call. That is a matter which has not been brought to my attention. I will ask Mr Staley to let the honourable senator have a reply.
